The Marquis St. Evrémonde
The Marquis St. Evrémonde is a cold-blooded aristocrat who embodies the worst of the French nobility. He is responsible for the deaths of many innocent people, including the peasant boy, Gaspard. The Marquis is eventually brought to justice and executed by the revolutionaries.
